Revised WHO recommendations on ART for adults and adolescents are now available in Russian

Dear Colleagues,

As you may know, in 2010, in accordance with the latest evidence and results of the new studies, the World Health Organization published a revised version of the recommendations Antiretroviral therapy for HIV infection in adults and adolescents. We are pleased to inform you that the Russian version of this document is now available on line on the WHO headquarters (Geneva) web site: http://www.who.int/hiv/pub/arv/adult2010/ru/index.html and is also attached to this message for your convenience. At the same time, we would like to inform you that WHO Regional Office for Europe is currently revising five clinical European protocols on HIV/AIDS taking into account empirical data, HIV epidemics specifics for the region as well as countries resources and potential in the Region for provision of HIV/AIDS care. The following are the protocols under revision by WHO EURO:
  • Antiretroviral therapy for HIV infection in adults and adolescents
  • Tuberculosis and HIV infection: treatment methods of patients with concurrent infection
  • Hepatitis B and HIV infection: treatment methods of patients with concurrent infection
  • Prevention of transmission from mother to child
  • Treatment and assistance to children with HIV/AIDS

Preliminary dates of finalizing protocols' revision - 4th quarter 2011. WHO Regional Office for Europe will additionally inform you on the availability of the protocols for broader usage.
